At this year’s Golden Globes Awards the french twist brought sophistication and elegance to the long gowns.  Eva Longoria, Carrie Underwood, and Natalie Portman’s locks were all styled to perfection.  A classic updo hairstyle, it’s nice to see they never go out of style and it is still the standard for polished styles and Hollywood glamour.

Blunt bangs were spotted on Glee’s Amber Riley, Sandra Bullock and Tron’s Olivia Wilde.  As predicted last week, heavy bangs will definitely be on trend for 2011.

Sleek ponytails also made an appearance and glamorous waves appeared on the other side of the spectrum.  Jennifer Lopez opted for keeping her main tightly slicked back a la Studio 54 and Glee’s Jayma Mays opted for a deep and dramatic side part to go along with her retro waves.  Megan Fox also wore beautiful waves swept to one side, giving her a softer overall look than we usually see her wearing.
